In short here are the rules for this years BCB:
=== Events rules Rev. 4th Nov 09 We have developed the following set of rules, to ensure our whole community is playing fairly. These rules will cover the events area in whole. Some events may have specific settings applied to them, and will be detailed on the event page. === General Rules - No glitching in any form - Keep things clean play the game how its meant to be played - if a player disconnects it is up-to the team to send their player an invite back into the game - the game should not be ended - if the game becomes unstable/laggy an alternate host should be chosen after the map has been played - disciplinary action will be taken against your whole team if any of your teams members are found cheating in any video evidence === Captain's Responsibilities Team captains are always responsible for their team. These events are going to depend heavily on the leaders of each clan to take responsibility for their team and handle every aspect of interactivity between other teams. We are happy to help, but please handle as much on your own as possible. Events staff will be available if a situation does arise. At the end of every official game, captains are responsible for getting their teams scores. Keep a pencil and paper handy. You should get the round scores, and copy down the opposing teams scores for verification. (Or even better, get a recording of the match) These scores must be reported in the match results within one day of match completion (24 hours). When reporting the scores, do not gloat. Any posts going beyond reporting these numbers may be edited by the community staff. Be fair, be kind, and be honest. Captains are also responsible for making sure their teams know the rules, especially the no glitching/cheating rules. Please control your teams, as your whole team may be affected. === Reporting Results It is the responsibility of both teams Leader(s) to report the results, win or lose. Both teams must confirm the same score when reporting their results. Matches must be reported with-in 1 day of them finishing. (24 hours) Either clan can report the results first, but both teams are required to confirm the scores. These scores must be confirmed in the BCB results forum. === Glitching No glitching! Everyone knows what a Glitch is in a game. WoC considers glitching to be unsporting to use in a clan match. We are going to have zero tolerance on this. Let's keep these matches fair. Disciplinary action will be taken against clans caught glitching. === Rosters All active players must be on your roster sheet on your clan profile here, before participating in any clan matches. It takes a matter of minutes to invite them into your clan, so please take advantage of this, by adding the players to your clan roster as soon as possible. [How do I create my team] + [How to join a clan] If a team does not have enough players online by 15 minutes after the scheduled match time, the official rule is to play with an incomplete team. Your team must have at least 3 players in the lobby, otherwise your clan will count as a No-Show (see below) The complete team may, but is not required to, amend this rule to their satisfaction (play with less players themselves or allow a sub from someone's friends list). The incomplete team may forfeit the match, by not playing. Should they do this, they must report a 3-0 loss. Failing to report/confirm the results may see your clan penalised. === No Shows Failing to show up at a scheduled match will result in a forfeit. Do NOT accept matches if you can not field a ready team. The absent team will be allowed a 15 minute grace period. The present team may wait any additional time they wish, but are not required to honour the match after the grace period expires. Report/dispute the match immediately, and please provide screenshots/video footage and then open a dispute ticket. This should be done as soon as possible after a no-show. The present team will be awarded a 3-0 default win. === Communication We have had a cheat free, community arena since we started our events. The last thing we need is for anyone to get discouraged. Please keep the trash talking to a minimum and be a good sport. All complaints will be handled by site staff. Please contact them if you need advice. Events staff decisions are final. We work as a team, and so each case will be worked on by more than one staff member. Certain events may have a named staff member, or team, and as such they have the final say on all decisions regarding the event. (exception below) Abuse of the events staff will not be tolerated. You may disagree with their decisions, but personal abuse or harassment will result in disciplinary action. Our events staff are volunteers, and as such should not be treated with neglect. They will treat you, as you treat them. === Party Chat As great a feature as this is, it should not be used to gain an advantage in a clan match. In games where you can not communicate with your team mates once you die, should be honoured, and to avoid this party chat is not allowed in such matches. Disputes regarding party chat being used will result in action taken against both clans. In most cases, teams will be asked to play the match again, minus one player each, and a referee/events staff member will be appointed to watch the clan match. They will perform regular mic checks with users. Failure to respond to a ref in such a case could be very damaging to your clan. We simply don't tolerate cheating, and shouldn't need to monitor matches. === Staff Members and disputes WoC's staff are made up from users from clans, and as such we allow our staff to play in our gaming events. These rules will detail how to handle disputes with a staff team member clan. Disputes regarding WoC's community staff will always be handled by a different member of the staffing team, or by the community admins. We trust our staffing to make the right choices, and if you do not trust the event leader to give an unbiased decision, please ask for another staff members point of view. WoC's staff users are still subject to the disciplinary rules below. === Sportsmanship and Discipline As mentioned above, unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. We will use a 4 strike system. Valid complaints will be handled as follows. 1st offense - Team captain will handle any discipline. (staff will provide a warning) 2nd offense – Events Staff will handle discipline, offending players team will be penalised 3rd offense – Events Staff will handle discipline, offending players team will be suspended/locked for 30 days. 4th offense - Offending player will be banned from the ladder, and potentially the whole clan will be banned. This includes but is not limited to sexist/racist remarks, abusive trash talking, overly sexual or offensive language. As in life what is considered inappropriate is judged solely by the person hearing it. Any complaints will be kept confidential and taken seriously. Things that you should take into consideration as offences are as follows, but not limited to: Caught using a turbo pad in a clan match (immediate clan ban) Reporting false results after a clan match Non-reporting/confirmation of results in a timely manner These disciplinary actions are also tied into the forums rules and AUP. Users of the WoC website must abide by all of our rules, as a ban on the website, will result in that player no longer being eligible to play in WoC events with your clan. === Double Clanning Some people have more free time than others. However to avoid conflicts when two teams do battle, you may only be on one team in any given event. Your 1v1 account will always be unique to you. === Disputes – Ticket system Any disputes will ultimately be handled by the event's staff. All players, by agreeing to participate in any event, you also agree to follow any decision made by the staff regarding any dispute. All team captains are able to issue a dispute to any challenge or result, via the help centre. And via the match reporting screens in their events control panel. === Disputes – Cheat accusations WoC takes its reputation of being a cheat free community seriously, and we have developed rules guidelines for making a successful cheat accusation. WoC requires video evidence before even considering any users cheat accusations. Our staffing will review the video evidence and will make a decision with-in 24 hours of getting the evidence. We would prefer to see what happened, rather than be involved in a long forum argument. Users who continue to moan and do not provide video evidence risk being ignored. |
